Do You Think Marijuana Should Be Legalized?
Question by Howling S: Do you think Marijuana should be legalized?
As of yesterday, President Obama stated that state laws involving medical marijuana would be upheld. Massachusetts is now hearing arguments for legalization and California is looking at a serious legalization push in 2010. I’m just curious as to what people’s opinions are out there? All reasonable arguments a welcome 🙂

Like alcohol prohibition, “trying” to make marijuana illegal has failed miserably and completely in the US! Legal or not, people are using it! The only people benefiting, however, are criminals, artificially raising the prices, and making for an unsafe situation as criminals are empowered and becoming wealthier.
Alcohol causes many more deaths per year than marijuana; if anything, alcohol should be illegal.
Legalizing (and TAXING) marijuana, just like alcohol, would give much-needed revenue to governments who are in dire need of funds, and reduce drug-related criminal activity.
If you agree, write your state and federal representatives. If you don’t know who they are, use

put in your ZIP, and click “Find Your Officials”.
(even if you disagree, I don’t care; just get involved, and let your reps know your thoughts; babbling on YA is essentially useless)
