Fever of 103.8!!! When Should I Take My 8 Year Old to the Doctor?

Question by Zya: Fever of 103.8!!! When should I take my 8 year old to the doctor?
The doctor said I shouldn’t need to take her in until her fever is 105 degrees. That seems really high to me. She isn’t dehydrated and my sister said all they will do is give her Tylonal and Motrin to bring down the fever and you can do the same thing at home. I still feel a little on edge about not taking her. What temp would you take your child to the doc with?

maybe call a different doctors office and get their opinion. you’re right, i would be worried too, and 105 seems outrageously high and dangerous…
