example: caffeine, pain killers, alcohol, weed etc
how would you tell them to support their friend
would you tell them to bring up dangers of addiction to their friend?
say the friend was around 11
would you tell them to offer you as someone understanding and confidential to talk to?

Try making them aware of the support available to them, I.e. yourself, counsellors (like childline, Samaritans etc), addiction helplines – anything private and confidential that would give them an outlet so they don’t have to worry about their parents finding out or anything like that, especially if you don’t know about their home circumstances. Because they’re so young, it might be a misunderstanding or just overreacting out of worry for their friend – as long as this person knows that there is help available, I’m not sure you could force them to take it :/ sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
