Legal Concerns to Hosting an Occupy?
Question by : Legal concerns to hosting an Occupy?
I live in Worcester, Massachusetts and recently the local Occupy Wall Street group was granted permission to have their encampment in the parking lot owned by a local community group The Worcester Area Missionary Society. This gives them the ability to protest legally but as has been seen in a few other cases some bad things do happen sometimes such as the rapes in Zuccotti park and drug use at Occupy Boston.
What legal issues would the WAMS have to be concerned about regarding the activities of the Occupy group? Specifically pertaining to unlawful activities such as drug use, public intoxication, assault, rape and so on. Could they be held responsible for such activities, face fines, lawsuits or even criminal charges?
