Permanent Memory Problems From Drug Abuse? Please Advise.?
Question by Paul: Permanent memory problems from drug abuse? Please advise.?
About five years ago I was in a pretty tough spot emotionally. I was a freshman in college and I partied- hard. Anyway, I had never tried pills before but my roommate offered to get me some klonopins. Long story short, that night I took nine .1 mg (if I remember correctly) pills. I also drank about a fifth of vodka.
Could something like this cause permanent brain damage? I’m having some memory problems and I’m freaking out, worried there might be some connection. I really needs someone who knows something about this (not just somebody who’s also taken the drug) to tell me. Thanks!

Question by toomuchtv23: what can I do to get my brother off of drugs? rehab? how does that work?
Can I make him go to rehab? Are there any free or low cost rehab places in Michigan? Does he need to agree to it before they will admit him? Can I say hes suicidal and they HAVE TO TAKE HIM? I dont want him to go to jail its not gonna help him. He needs rehab/guidence
My 31 year old brother has had a problem with drugs for the past 3 years. Started out with just pills, then lead to crack, cocaine, and more pills ( probably other things too. ). He talks about wanting to die all the time. He’s 2 years older than me. He was doing so good his whole life up UNTIL NOW. I am so scared for him he has a bad heart.. He has 2 beautiful children and a girlfriend of 10 years that HE LOST due to his drug problem. He had a house, car, job and a beautiful family, now hes laid off collecting unemployment and using all his money on drugs. Doesn’t see his family. What can I do as a sister. I try telling him to quit and he says its hard. I think hes gonna die soon and I have to do something now before its too late. WHAT DO I DO???
