Why My Nurse Practitioner Recommends I Continue Stopping All 4 Medications Cold Turkey?

Question by : Why my Nurse practitioner recommends I continue stopping all 4 medications cold turkey?
I was prescribed against my will 4 medications abilify ativan lamictal and welbutrin 7 years ago I was 16 and what I mean by that is it was court ordered because i dropped out of school. My parents gave consent to force me on the medication. I live in Boston Mass. and recently read on the web a law has been passed to stop this BS. This makes me very happy that this may be true that this corrupt pharmaceutical companies and especially the court cannot force such crazy meds at such a young age. But anyway I am 23 years of age now and the first thing I did was cut the 30 mg abilify suddenly my sex drive is back and I have aggression which yea at first it may have been directed at the wrong people. But when I tell her 2 weeks later I did this and I had insomnia she prescribes in her words a “sleeping medication” called saphris, well at this point I trust nobody so I looked up curiously what is this medication another anti psychotic.Well do I have a right to be angry for this lack of information she describes. So I called earlier today and told her look I have some aggression but its going in the right direction it is motivation inside and I would like to stop these medications gradually, could you please help? although I was furious inside I handled the circumstances very well. I told her I have rights to not be on medication if you don’t want to help I will just stop taking them cold turkey. Yea do that oh yea and hang in there! This is a damn shame does it take a genius to figure out stopping such medications that I take can cause sever side effects? NO! so wtf? this shit is crazy and I am not focused on feeling depressed anymore but fully enraged for a “Nurse Practitioner ” would say this? that is basically saying go hang a rope and die but I have faith but currently am outraged at such lack of concern! I do not expect a reply for this because I answered my own question but I am sure somebody has had similar circumstances.
In the first year on these medications I went literally from 160 pounds to 215 and it just got worse from there. But guess what? I have the will and mind and god given right, to bounce back! I currently weigh 210 but I am 6’2 in height my most weight was 265! I am athletic build and attractive now but this confusion cost me 7 Years of life that will never come back.

Aid for a Sex Offender?

Question by JanaJana: aid for a sex offender?
This kid I know has been institutionalized throughout his whole life and has been diagnosed with bipolar, antisocial, and many other illnesses of the mind. He meets this fifteen year old girl who starts to date him (he’s eighteen) for his money and rides. He loses his job and she doesn’t want to date him anymore because of that so she goes to her mom and tells her about it. He goes to jail gets back out and she is after him again because he has a job. He gets back with her (she’s now sixteen) and he gets in trouble again. She has his baby and since he is a sex offender… he will never see it.

What Treatment Center?

Question by jadehope: What treatment center?
hi I’m a 19 year old female who has been secretly suffering from anorexia and bulimia for about 4 years. I have decided it’s time to tell my parents and receive treatment but I don’t know which treatment center is right for me. I know a lot of treatment centers also deal with other mental illnesses like bipolar disorder among others and also addiction to drugs and alcohol. however I do not abuse or even use drugs or alcohol and the only mental illness I have is anorexia and bulimia. I want to make sure im picking the right treatment center for me. does anyone have any suggestions? by the way I live in new York so anything in that area would be more convient, but I’m not opposed to going out of state. and I’m also looking for an inpatient program.

“GOOD CAUSE” for QUITTING in GEORGIA?

Question by Uggh: “GOOD CAUSE” FOR QUITTING IN GEORGIA?
I have had bursitis since I was 22 after I had my first child. It was so bad that I could not walk. I thought my legs were broken, so I had began to crawl everywhere. Eventually my mother took me to the hospital (no one believed me for weeks and I could not drive). When I received the diagnosis from the doctor he said I had bursitis (after an x-ray and questioning) and told me I would have to have steroid injections. I refused and I went home and suffered it out. I took tylenol and OTC drugs to get by, and ended up having to resign from my job not being able to get out of the bed. I was unable to claim UI even though I worked there for 2 years and had no issues with management. I am now 3 years later in the same predicament. I for whatever reason as a younger woman believed bursitis was something you can have and would just go away and never come back like chicken pox, but I was wrong. It came back and even worse. I have another job like the one before, heavy lifting, twisting, pulling, etc. and I can fill it every day. I take about 16 tylenols a day and it is starting to have no affect. My job has slacked on providing me (and some other employees) with our enrollment paperwork in a timely manner so I have suffered with it about 2 months longer than necessary. I am 6 months from recieving my nursing degree. However I was wondering if I quit will I have good cause to recieve UI. I am in really bad pain.I have attempted to sit down at work to lessen the pain and pressure but with the way my job is designed (must be always moving and on my feet) it is no possible. I’m not one of those people who hates working, I’ve always had a job since I was 17 and I believe in working and earning my keep. Manual labor is just not something I can do anymore.
I refused the steroids because I had to pay for them out of pocket, because at the time I was uninsured as I am now. I have been on my job but they have slacked on providing me with my paperwork to recieve my benefits(insurance) so like then, now I am forced to deal with the pain day to day which is why I take the tylenol. I cannot recieve medicaid or medicare, because I am too old/young. I will have to wither pay for insurance for the time being (if I do quit) or become insured under my boyfriend.

What Would Be a Good Drug Treatment Program for My Daughter?

Question by ciarra e: What would be a good drug treatment program for my daughter?
She’s just 19, and I was wondering what would be a good treatment program for her. She got hooked up on drugs because of her friends and I don’t want this to continue. She really needs to get herself treated as soon as possible. She knows this, and she too, wants to go into rehab already.
