Drug Addicts or Former Drug Addicts, Please Help.?
Question by ***: Drug addicts or former drug addicts, please help.?
My husband is picking small fights with me and our 9yr old. He’s been using cocaine on and off for 3 yrs. For the most part when he hasn’t been using he has either been locked up in a rehab or doing jail time. What I’m trying to understand is if drug users look for any excuse to use and why? What do I say to him during these situations where he acts irrational and threatens to go use? I’m almost 6 months pregnant and need a drug free environment for my family. Any suggestions on how to cope, understand, or approach this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Lauren

You can tell her about alternatives. This is from the Mayo Clinic article on insomnia.
Have You Heard of Organized Stalking or Cause Stalking?
Question by Terry Cloth: Have you heard of organized stalking or cause stalking?
It’s a recently documented phenomena, that is commonly used as a form of reprisal for whistleblowers or to terrorize people in minority groups, outspoken community members, ex spouses, etc.
It is exactly as frightening as it sounds. Groups of people stalking and harassing a single individual in a community, so pervasively that the targeted individual is driven to commit suicide, be institutionalized, and/or incarcerated.
Can you believe this is happening?
What could one person do to stop this?

Shakes Due to Years of Alcohol/Drug Abuse…?
Question by Karenmurph: Shakes due to years of Alcohol/Drug abuse…?
My partner shakes, I think it is because he used to do a lot of drugs before me and also drank heavily. He is 33. Could it be a direct result of the substance abuse?

Has he been checked out by a physician specializing in addiction treatment? How long has he been sober?
There’s no way for anyone in internet land to be able to tell. My guess would be yes, it is related to substance abuse. Substance abuse kills livers, ruins kidneys, interferes with the central nervous system, and kills irreplaceable brain cells, just to name a few issues.
