like how many people in the U.S. are addicts?

Answer by grundlegoat
thats kind of tricky because a lot of addicts don’t think they are addicts because they have prescriptions, don’t know they have a problem, or just aren’t ready to admit they have a problem.

What Treatment Center?
Question by jadehope: What treatment center?
hi I’m a 19 year old female who has been secretly suffering from anorexia and bulimia for about 4 years. I have decided it’s time to tell my parents and receive treatment but I don’t know which treatment center is right for me. I know a lot of treatment centers also deal with other mental illnesses like bipolar disorder among others and also addiction to drugs and alcohol. however I do not abuse or even use drugs or alcohol and the only mental illness I have is anorexia and bulimia. I want to make sure im picking the right treatment center for me. does anyone have any suggestions? by the way I live in new York so anything in that area would be more convient, but I’m not opposed to going out of state. and I’m also looking for an inpatient program.
Drug Rehab Options for Unemployed and No Income Addicts?
Question by m l: Drug rehab options for unemployed and no income addicts?
One of my friends since childhood is addicted to numerous substances and careening down a path of self destruction and co-dependence with an abusive man. I’ve suggested rehab to deal with her addictions and she seemed slightly receptive. However she cited lack of money as her main reason for not going to a rehab. She is 26, unemployed (she recently lost a job she had for only 2 weeks due to use), unmarried and located in MS. Her mother provides her with some funds to live on.
I have located some sites via searching but the information I’ve come across seems vague or phishy or not applicable to the state she resides in.
Thank you in advance.
Clarification: I need FREE assistance program information. I’m aware someone else could pay for it but there is no one in her life that can afford it (e.g. myself) or would be willing to (i.e. her family). Her parents have ample income but are not willing to help her. They are more or less cutting her off without first attempting to get her into treatment.

What is Schizencephaly?
Schizencephaly is an extremely rare developmental birth defect characterized by abnormal slits, or clefts, in the cerebral hemispheres of the brain. Babies with clefts in both hemispheres (called bilateral clefts) commonly have developmental delays, delays in speech and language skills, and problems with brain-spinal cord communication. Individuals with clefts in only one hemisphere (called unilateral clefts) are often paralyzed on one side of the body, but may have average to near-average intelligence. Individuals with schizencephaly may also have an abnormally small head, mental retardation, partial or complete paralysis, or poor muscle tone. Most will experience seizures. Some individuals may have an excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain called hydrocephalus.

Is Marijuana an “ok” Drug?
Question by Amber: Is marijuana an “ok” drug?
Some people think it’s ok to smoke weed, and a lot of times it’s socially accepted. What do you think?

Answer by superrelax
i’ve smoked herb for a long time. im healthy and successful…and i won’t be dying of cigarette-related cancer anytime soon, either. know the facts: there are zero reported marijuana induced deaths per year. AND i’ve never tried any other drugs in my life. so, if you want to label anything as dangerous, label the ones that warrant that label: alcohol and cigarettes. not to mention the people who find a better alternative to prescription drugs in marijuana to relieve pain caused by such things as cancer, glaucoma, MS…the list can go on.
