Hogar Crea is Home CREATES, organization without aims of profit, dedicated to the prevention and to the treatment of the addiction to drugs in all his manifestations, it was established the 28 of May of 1968 by his founder Juan Jose Garci’a Rivers, in the District Saint Just of the town of High Trujillo. This movement guided by God was created to lessen the problem of the addiction to drugs and their consequences, having like intention to establish a Community of Reeducación and Crecimiento of the Character. To the present we offer treatment against the addiction to drugs and alcoholism, to people of both adult and adolescent sexes. We lodged to more than 500 patients of VIH/SIDA, maintain projects for adolescents in coordination with the Administration of Youthful Institutions and a Home CREATES for adolescent females with conduct problems. Also we administered a Federal, unique Intermediate House in Puerto Rico.
We give to direction and treatment in the penal institutions for adults and maintain an agreement with the Administration of Correction to offer treatment to them to prisoners who are transferred to our Homes.
In Home the resident CREATES finds a true home with the elements physical, emotional, spiritual and moral that contribute to the good formation of their character. The resident voluntarily initiates an encounter with God and he himself; it learns that she is the only person in charge of his life and its conduct.
The resident that receives treatment must assume in its newspaper to live a series on duties that will help him to acquire individual and collective responsibility. Most of the tasks made in the Home they comprise of the process of reconstruction of the life of the resident.
The therapy is the main occupation of the residents in the Homes CREATES. The therapeutic atmosphere predominates the seven days of the week and its motto is the responsibility of the resident towards its person and the community. The direction of the Homes is in charge of reeducados that are product and example of the effectiveness of the program. This allows to a greater understanding and dedication in the treatment of the people in treatment. In addition, the directors and their personnel are helped by professionals who offer their services in different disciplines and matters.
The abbreviation CREATES means Community of Reeducación de Adictos, whose filosofia it is based on the existencial principle of individual and collective responsibility, own effort, and mutual aid.
The treatment in Home CREATES is structured in phases or ascending steps that challenge the resident to be surpassing and having scaled stages that lead it to the reeducación of their character. The same ones are: inducción;introspección, identification and growth; intensive growth; and pursuit. Addict and/or the person with conduct problems begins to assume the responsibility of her own treatment when arriving like existencial and continuous commitment ascending by the different phases from the treatment until arriving at the Level V, that is the final stage of its reeducación before returning to the community. This process extends by a period of two years to two years and means, approximately.
Home CREATES is an organization without aims of profit, dedicated to offer services of prevention and treatment to addict to voluntary drugs and with legal pressure of both sexes, addict adults and adolescents, mothers with its children, deambulantes and with
condition of the VIH/SIDA. Our mission and apostolate are the service to the needed one and the abandoned one.
This Organization of high humanitarian sense and deep Christian Work was founded by God having used to Juan Jose Garci’a Rivers like instrument his to mitigate the human pain and to be light in the dark way that our society lives.
For such reason, all those that we comprised of this Organization guided by God, as they are them: Reeducados, employees, members of Committees Rudder, Committees of Relatives, cooperating, familiar members and others, we must understand and internalizar that we must be example and that all our efforts must go directed to exactly fulfill but the important Mission of our Movement: TO SERVE.
